Loverider introduced me to the amazing world of no-input mixing last night. This is the edited highlights of an hour long session.
No input mixing is the practice of making music from feedback. We strung three mixers together and fed aux sends back in as channel inputs. The feedback loop that this creates can create rhythmical patterns that sound uncannily like synthesised drums, bass and other sounds - usually sirens!
It's a bit like carving sound out of noise.
